Are you wanting to co-create a sustainable, holistic future? We are! We are a group of eco-community pioneers in Lacrosse, FL, near
Gainesville. We are working hard to build our young intentional
community. We are right now 4 people. This includes Joanna Montana the
tireless, ever-inspired visonary and founder. Joanna has been working hard for years now involved in numerous educational programs such as the Master Gardener Program ,permaculture forums, national co-housing gatherings ,and has visited many eco communities across the country in order to better educate herself on what it really takes to put something of this magnitude together. There is a man named Mark ... aka White Crow...whose inspiration comes from both Joanna's incredible efforts and a quote by T.E.Lawrance..."beware of the man who dreams with his eyes open for his dreams will come true"...he is currently building a round cordwood off grid and sustainable house at his site on the 92 acre property" white crow camp".He has erected a 12x24 greenhouse, constructed a 1000 gal.rainwater catchment system and built a 12x16 deck over it . The foundation for the round house has been poured and he has cut ..debarked and stacked over 300 16" pine logs which he harvested from the land. It is a work in progress and we welcome interested guests to tour it during your stay. Joanna's son Nick who is a graduate student from University of Florida ,Gainesville who lives nearby is a beekeeper. He comes over and works with Joanna on the 2500 sq ft veggie garden they built and will soon be operating a honey bottleing operation @ the La Crosse facility. Joanna's other son Dan who is also a graduate student from University of Florida and lives in south Florida comes up periodically and works on his "Sand Bar @La Crosse "...and of course a regular flow of renters, campers, and visitors. We are hoping to attract mature, conscious community builders who are interested and dedicated to this unique and revolutionary project. We need a core group of like-minded and like-hearted people who want to create a functional permaculture community in Central Florida. We have the space, some resources, some dwellings, some infrastructure, gardens, etc, we need the people! We also need people who can contribute finacially through renting space on site.
